The Shopping Cart Made Simple Administration System is provided through a comprehensive, secure control panel accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. This control panel, provides all of the tools you need to operate your Shopping Cart.
Help files are provided for every administrative function and are accessed by clicking on the help icon.
What follows is a listing of the features of Shopping Cart Made Simple along with a brief description of their functionality.

Supplier Manager

Create a database of Manufacturers
  • Manufacturers can be assigned to products and then be listed on a dynamic menu so customers can shop by "brand".
  • Manufacturers can be assigned to products and listed on the product detail pages and, when clicked, customer can see a list of all products by the particular Manufacturers.

Discount Manager

You can create special discount codes.  When the customer reaches the checkout page, he simply enters his code to receive his discount.   Codes can have a beginning/ending date, can be in an amount off or a percentage off.

US/CANADA Tax Rate Manager

The tax rate manager allows you to assign sales tax rates to all 50 states and Canada.

Shipping Manager

Add shipping and handling rates to products or we can integrate UPS and USPS shipping modules for you.

Product Manager

Product Listing
Provides a complete listing of all existing products.
  • Product Catalog - List all existing products.  Edit/Delete from this screen.
  • Product Catalog Search - The product Catalog has a powerful search filter. 
  • Filter your search by category or subcategory. Sort results by Product Name, Sequence Number, Product Number.

Product Editor

Product editor is used to create and edit product items.
Main Product Data
  • Product Number - Unique identifier
  • Name - Product name or title. 
  • Header - Bold header to show above the description on the product page. 
  • Your Price - Selling price of product.
  • Retail Price - Optional retail price of product.  When used, system will display retail price, your price and show the savings between the two prices. 
  • Sale Price - Optional sale price of product.  When used, system will display your price, sale price and show the savings between the two prices. Product will also be displayed on Specials page, and rotating "Specials" banner.  
  • Date Added - Date the product is setup or edited.
  • Weight - Shipping weight of item used in shipping cost calculations
  • Shipping - Shipping cost of item if not integrating UPS and USPS shipping modules
  • Handling - Handling charges added to an item.  
  • Unit - Unit of sale.
  • Manufacturer - Manufacturer or item.  When enabled, shoppers can shop by brand.
  • Status - Set Products to Active or Inactive to show only when you want them to.
  • Featured - Set Products to be "Featured" on the home page.
  • Estimated Ship Time - Displays the normal lead time on delivery.
  • Ship Exempt - Products coded as ship exempt do not add shipping/handling charges to order total.
  • Tax Exempt - Products coded as tax exempt do not add tax to order.
  • Categories - Assigns products to store categories, add a new category directly from this screen.
  • SubCategories - Assigns products to subcategories, add a new subcategory directly from this screen.
  • Manufacturer - Assigns products to store manufacturers, add a new manufacturer directly from this screen.
  • Long Description - Product description shown on Product Page. WYSIWYG Editor. Unlimited field size.
  • Short Description - Product description shown on home page if product is "Featured".
  • Sequence Number - Set the order in which products will be displayed on product listing page.
  • Page Title - Change the page title for product page, this is for search engine optimization.
  • Meta Description - Change the meta description for the product page, this is for search engine optimization. When nothing is entered this defaults to the long description of the product.
  • Meta Keywords - Change the meta keywords for the product page, this is for search engine optimization. When nothing is entered this defaults to the short description of the product.
Product Attributes
  • Product Main Image - The primary product image.  Select the product image from your local computer and upload to your store.  Image is automatically resized.
  • Alt Text Main Image - Change the alt text for the image, this is for search engine optimization. When no alt text is entered this defaults to the name of the product.
  • Thumbnail Image - Optional thumbnail image.  Select the product thumbnail image from your local computer and upload to your store.  When no thumbnail is uploaded, system defaults to thumbnail regenerated from the main product image.  This field is necessary only when greater detail is necessary.
  • Alt Text Thumbnail Image - Change the alt text for the image, this is for search engine optimization. When no alt text is entered this defaults to the name of the product.
  • Additional Product Images - Additional product images may be added to show different views of a product item.  Select the additional image from your local computer and upload to your store.  Number of additional images is unlimited.
  • Image Attributes - You may create an unlimited number of image attributes.  Image attributes are used to give the customer a visual selection of product attributes for things such as color, fabric, etc.  Select the attribute image from your local computer, enter a text description (Herringbone, flannel, etc.) and upload to your store.  Number of image attributes is unlimited.
  • Text Attributes - You may create an unlimited number of text attributes.  To implement, enter a name for the attribute (Size) then enter the options for the attribute (S,M,L,XL, XXL) and click the Add button to create them.
  • Influence Price by Attribute - Add a dollar amount to the any of the Image Attributes or Text Attributes. For example: to order the "Large" add $10.00.
  • Influence Price by Quantity - Used to offer quantity discounts for products.
Product Promotion
  • Featured Product - Select a product as "Featured" and this product will show on the home page with the small image and short desc and a link to the product page.
  • Sale Items - When you assign a sale price to a product the item will automatically show in the rotating banner of "Specials" and also be listed on your "Specials" page.
  • Cross Sell - Select multiple products to "Relate" to an item. These products will show on the products page "Add to Cart" area with individual quantity boxes so that they can all be purchased with one click. They will also link to the product page.

Category Manager

Category Listing - Lists all existing categories.
  • Category List - List all existing categories.  Edit/Delete from this screen.
  • Sort results by Category Name, Sequence Number.
Creating Categories
  • Parent Category - Select the Parent category from the dropdown list or create a new one from this screen.
  • Category Name - Enter the category name.
  • Description - Enter a description of the category (optional).
  • Status - Checkbox to enable the category.  Categories can be disabled and will, thus not show on the dynamic menus.
  • Icon - You can have an image icon display for the category.  Select the icon image from your local computer and upload to your store.
  • Alt Text Icon - Change the alt text for the icon, this is for search engine optimization. When no alt text is entered this defaults to the name of the category.
  • Sequence Number - Set the order in which categories will be displayed in the navigation list.

SubCategory Manager

SubCategory Listing - Lists all existing subcategories.
  • SubCategory List - List all existing subcategories.  Edit/Delete from this screen.
  • Search by Category, Sort results by SubCategory Name, Sequence Number.

Customer Management

Customer Management - Allows you to list, review and edit customer records.
  • List all Customers - Edit/Delete from this screen.
  • Search by Email Address or Last Name, Sort results by First and Last Name, Email Address, CustomerId, Total Orders.
  • View order history per Customer.

Sales Management

Order Manager - The Order Manager provides a listing of orders by order status.  Search function allows orders to be filtered by; Order Status, Beginning Date, Ending Date, Order Number, Customer Name. Sort by Status, ApprovalCode,TransactionId, Order Date, Order Time, Last Name, First Name, Phone #, Email, CC Number, Total Items Ordered, Total Cost.
  • View details of the order including individual items ordered and item attributes chosen, shipping and tax charges.
  • Create printable "Purchase Orders" for each order.
  • Create "Individual P.O.'s" for each manufacturer within each order.
  • Export Orders - either all orders or orders based on filters.
